About

Artyom Ashminevich

Systems Administrator · Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (in transition)

Systems administrator with about one year of commercial experience running Windows-centric infrastructure for roughly 120 users, moving deliberately from operations into cloud and DevOps engineering.

Day to day I run Active Directory, Group Policy, VMware virtualization, MikroTik networking, and PowerShell automation; on my own time I build the cloud and container skills the next step needs, including a self-hosted k3s cluster on AWS and CI/CD fundamentals.

Self-taught, with a strong mathematics background and a habit of debugging problems down to the protocol level rather than stopping at the symptom. Comfortable reading technical documentation and working in English.

How I work

Three habits, with the evidence

Anyone can claim these. Each one below is followed by the specific thing that happened.

How I work
  • 01

    Root cause, not symptom

A workstation that could not be reached remotely turned out to be booting before the domain controller answered, falling back to the Public network profile and silently blocking SMB on 445. Fixing the symptom would have meant reimaging it.

  • 02

    Automate the second time

Enabling PSRemoting on one machine is a command. Doing it across an organizational unit — including the machines you cannot reach remotely yet — is a script with PsExec, WMIC, and a GPO scheduled task as fallbacks.

  • 03

    Claim only what is true

The skills page marks every technology as Production, Working knowledge, or Learning project. I would rather be trusted on the first list than flattered on all three.
